More Pics on the Way

Those of you who check frequently may have noticed no pictures over the last couple of days. Cassie is now home, we're exhausted, but there are still a lot of pics to post. Once I have the energy to actually carry the camera up the stairs to my computer, I'll post them.

We're all adjusting and Cassie is sleeping about 3-4 hours between feedings. Not too bad, and we get about 7 hours of interrupted sleep throughout the night. I'm participating as much as possible in the "Text and Image" seminar, though have had to miss a few sessions, so no afternoon naps for me.

Check back soon, I'll probably post more pics tomorrow!

Going Home

Today's the big day! We've been cleared to go home whenever we want. Of course, the nursery that takes Cassie whenever she's fussy, changes her diapers, etc. and room service will be missed. The summer grad seminar on Text and Image with Professor Hamburger from Harvard starts this afternoon. I'll be sneaking out of the house to attend the seminar. Becky is feeling much better and the dr's are all impressed with how quickly she's recovering.

I'll post pictures of the homecoming and of Justice's introduction to Cassie (I'm sure he'll want to sniff everything - he's a dog, btw).

No Room in the Inn

From the time we arrived on Friday morning until last night, there have been fourteen babies born here!! As soon as the nurses discharge someone and clean up a room, it's reoccupied by someone coming from labor. It's not even a full moon this weekend.

We'll be out soon. Becky's doing well and our dr. said we can go home anytime after a check-up tomorrow morning!

Rockin' with the baby. Becky's feeling much better. She's moving around easier and going for walks around the maternity ward.

Day Two

Cassie's starting to wake up and show some personality, lung capacity, and diaper-filling ability. Thank you to everyone who has given us advice and support these last few days. It's all much appreciated.

Becky is recovering on schedule. She had solid food today and has been able to walk around, shower, etc. Tomorrow she'll be able to take a walk around the maternity ward and Monday we'll go home.

Tonight we're keeping Cassie in our room. Last night she stayed in the nursery. We'll see how she does. We've been officially welcomed into the club of the "happy and exhausted." I knew the sporadic sleep patterns required for grad school would come in handy some day!

I'll be posting more as we go.

This blog will act as a venue for family and friends to easily see pictures of Cassie, mommy and daddy over the next few weeks. I'll post as often as possible.
